What documents will I be asked to submit if I want to become a MISUMI supplier?
MISUMI procurement team will request Contract, Prop 65, RoHS (Product/Packaging) Compliance, Credit Reference (DUNS Number), W-9, and Certificate of Liability Insurance. In addition, suppliers are required to use our GMIND Supplier Portal and follow MISUMI labeling procedure.

How can I handle consolidated shipments? (cases/pallets)
A consolidated shipment may contain multiple POs (e.g. two or more than two different parts). Each tack label must be attached to each bag or box.

What can I do with MISUMI supplier portal, GMIND?

How do I schedule a supplier training?
We highly encourage suppliers to request an operational overview for conducting business with MISUMI. Our procurement will invite suppliers to schedule a webinar/onsite training along with training materials.

When can I obtain access to GMIND supplier portal?
You will receive our GMIND credentials after approval and have full access thru the link.

Shipping

What are DOs and DON'Ts for MISUMI delivery?

• Any Non-Misumi documents shouldn’t be inside shipment
• Non-branded boxes, tapes, and packing materials have to be used for all shipments
• Do not put the items with different ship dates into the same carton
• Make sure all products and packaging meets the latest RoHS & REACH regulation requirements
• Keep the weight of a carton less than 45 lbs. In the case of heavy item, strap the carton with PP strap
• Put together items of the same PO

How can I best handle MISUMI shipments?
You will see two main abbreviations below are used in the order papers/shipping documents.

• STK (Stock) Item:Product that is always kept at MISUMI Warehouse. Do not pack Stock & MTO items in the same carton. Pack items with MISUMI label and packing list into carton boxes and attach waybill (= packing slip) to the box. Write “Stock” on the smallest face of the box.
• MTO (Made-to-Order) Item:Custom made product manufactured according to an order from a customer, MTO is shipped to the customer with the original wrapping. Never include Non-Misumi branded labels/documents inside shipments. MTO is shipped to the customer with the original wrapping. Do not put branded labels or documents inside shipments.

• Order List: MISUMI PO (Sales Order List)
• Picking List: MISUMI Packing list (Instruction of Work)
• Shipping Instruction: Shipping Instruction in Text file (Scheduled Shipment Data)
• Tack Label: Misumi Shipping Labels (Product Label)
• SSD: Supplier Ship Date
• VRD: Via Receive Date (Arrival Date at Misumi Warehouse)
• VSD: Via Ship Date (Shipping Date from Misumi Warehouse to our customer)

How can I prepare shipping documents?
Examine order details from an automatically generated PO notification by email. Go to GMIND and download Shipping Documents

How can I label MISUMI shipments?
Go to GMIND and download “Tack Label”. Put together items by the PO (Global Number) and attach tack labels onto inner bags or boxes. Do not attach to the outermost container.

Packaging

How can I pack MISUMI shipments?

• Single Carton with 1 PO:Attach the tack label on the smaller side of the package
• Multiple Cartons with 1 PO:Label each carton as "Sequential Number/Total Number of Cartons”. Handwrite 1/3, 2/3, 3/3, if total cartons are three per PO. Attach tack label on the smaller side. On the label, hand write number of pieces in the carton/total number of pieces (e.g. 30/50 = 30 of 50 pieces per PO, 20/50 = 20 of 50 pieces per PO). Input MISUMI packing list.

What Are Prohibited Packing Materials?

• Materials with staples
• Foam polystyrene cushion materials
• Newspaper and magazine (as cushion material)
